Kurt Streicher, Proprietor of Downunder Solar Inc hails from Armidale, NSW Australia. Downunder Solar Inc was established in Kingston, Ontario in 2007. Kurt has 20 years experience as an Accredited Australian Master Electrician. During this time he realised there was a genuine need to provide off-grid power solutions for clients seeking to reduce their environmental footprint. In 1998 he shifted his focus from Electrical Contracting to Solar Power/Off-Grid design and installation services and as a result became a pioneer in the solar industry in regional Northern New South Wales.
Kurt was an accredited designer/installer with the Solar Energy Industry Association of Australia (SEIA). Australian installations are required to be installed by an accredited installer in order to be eligible to receive an Australian Government Rebate. Unfortunately, no such program exists here in Ontario. Consumers should be cautious when choosing a company to design and install their system and Kurt recommends they do their due diligence. He has designed and installed numerous solar power systems and utility grid connected systems for customers in remote areas of Eastern Ontario. Most of Downunder Solar Inc's business comes from repeat clients and client referrals.
